2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom

There's an eighth generation Phantom. Rolls-Royce unveiled the Phantom VIII in July 2017. Rolls-Royce is expected to commence customer deliveries in early 2018. The standard Phantom starts at around $450,000. However, Phantom VIII customers are adding around $150,000 in options to their cars for an average order price of $600,000.
Unlike most cars, Rolls-Royce customers are more likely to spend their time in the back of the car. As a result, Rolls has created an environment designed to deliver unparalleled luxury and isolation from the outside world. In others words, it's what the company calls the 'magic carpet ride.'
Although the new body shell is both lighter and stiffer than the previous car’s, the official curb weight of 5862 pounds is higher. That is due to more standard equipment and also a huge amount of sound-deadening material to help deliver on the company’s ambition to make the Phantom the undisputed quietest car in the world, at least as measured in the cabin. The curb weight includes no less than 287 pounds of acoustic insulation and triple-layer 0.2-inch-thick glass in all windows.
