The Sunbeam Alpine featured in the film 'Dr. No' is significant to Bond fans. It's the first time Bond drives his “own” vehicle, as opposed to a car taken from a foe.

The 1963 Aston Martin DB5 is the iconic James Bond car. The special effects team added an array of gadgets, including an ejector seat, machine guns, a smoke screen, and tire slashers. The Aston Martin DB5 used in the James Bond classics 'Goldfinger' and 'Thunderball' sold at auction for $ 4.1m in 2010.

The 1967 Toyota 2000 GT was the car of choice for 'You Only Live Twice', a Bond film set primarily in Japan. The 2000 GT was a hardtop coupé, but the low roof proved too restrictive for Sean Connery, who was too tall to sit comfortably in the car. Toyota made modifications to produce a special open top version for the film.

Aston Martin DBS (1968) 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' introduced a new James Bond, George Lazenby.

1974 AMC Hornet X Hatchback - 'The Man with the Golden Gun' In the film's landmark stunt, Bond, along with Louisiana Sheriff J.W. Pepper, spot an old collapsed bridge and do a 360 degree barrel roll over the river in pursuit of the evil Francisco Scaramanga.

The Lotus Esprit S1 (1976) from 'The Spy Who Loved Me' (1977) can turn into a submarine. Tesla founder Elon Musk bought the car for £616,000 in 2013.

Bajaj RE. Known as a Tuk-Tuk Taxi, this small, three wheeled vehicle showed up in 'Octopussy' (1983). Bond is reassured the Tuk-Tuk is “a company car”. Accelerating at a speed unknown to a vehicle of that size we find out that it’s been fitted with engines courtesy of 'Q'.

1985 V8 Vantage Volante For 1987's 'The Living Daylights' A new James Bond, Timothy Dalton had gadgets like lasers, missiles, outriggers, a rear rocket propulsion system and tire spikes for added traction control. It also had a heads-up missile guidance display, and a built-in self-destruct timer.

“Golden Eye”, featured the BMW Z3, this was also the first film where a clear marketing strategy was used by BMW featuring a car that was to go on sale to the public a few months after the film. The product placement caused a huge spike in sales for BMW.

The BMW 750iL from 'Tomorrow Never Dies' (1997) features some of the most impressive gadgets in a bond car. It features bulletproof windows, a body that can withstand a sledgehammer, electrified door handles and can be controlled via remote control.

The V12 Vanquish in 'Die Another Day' (2002) features one of the most ridiculous gadgets any car has ever had. It comes with the standard ejector seat, torpedoes and shotguns, but this one can turn invisible.

2006 Aston Martin DBS V12. Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008) Daniel Craig came equipped with the latest Aston Martin DBS V12, but the gadgets were minimal.

'Spectre' marks a departure from past Bond films because the two main cars featured in the movie were created solely for the film and are not available to the public.

Aston Martin's car for the James Bond film 'Spectre' is so exclusive that only one person will be able to buy it. But they won't be allowed to drive it on the road. Aston Martin created 10 cars, dubbed the DB10, especially for the film. The automaker plans to auction off one DB10 next year, but the car doesn't have the necessary road certifications for driving. That means the owner will simply have to place it in their collection and show it off to friends.

The villian's car, a Jaguar C-X75, is not for sale. The hybrid concept car was unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, but never went into full production.

Only seven of these Jaguars were created for the film.
